What is a self reporting technique?
A method where a person is asked to state or explain there own feelings opinions behaviours or experiences on a topic
What is a structured interview?
-standardised procedure
-questions planned in advance
-best for comparisons

-ask any follow up questions
-interviewer can deviate
-best for exploration

What is a Questionnaire?
A questionnaire is a set of questions to assess persons thoughts or experiences
(used to assess dependent variable)
What are open questionnaires?
-Answer in any way
-No answer limit qualitative data
What are closed questionnaires ?
-limited response
-tick box

Strengths of Questionnaires?
-cost effective
-quick to produce
- researcher doesn’t need to be present
-analysis is quick
Weaknesses of questionnaires?
-participants may not understand the question
-Might lie or not complete correctly
-Acquiescence bias
