Compared to the daily mirror which is free and audiences are loyal to the brand as they can keep up with newsletters comment share and upload information(clay shirky theory). Regulated by IPSO makes it more reliable as it has too follow a protocol and isn’t entirely bias.

Main competition is the sun targeting a similar demographic audience but supports the right wing. The daily mirror is the only newspaper that consistently supports the Labour Party and their policies its slogan “the heart of Britain” suggests that the newspaper supports the mundane ordinary working class and is engraved in the social and cultural life of the uk.
Newspaper analysis
Deals with allegations surrounding parties it’s image led and the masthead is bold as a tabloid newspaper the typography is strong and the name of the newspaper reflects society the slogan suggests they care about what’s happening too the UK and the headline uses emotive language such as Zero shame. The strapline sums up the content of the story. The image of Boris Johnson dominates the front page as he appears unconcerned reinforcing the caption“ I’m not going” showing his failure to take responsibility. The double page spread incorporates a range of newspaper features.
