US and Soviets were the dominant world powers after WWII and wanted to shape the world in their image. The USA said it was the most free country in the world, while the Soviets said they were the most free because they were ruled by the masses. Pissing contest

A

USA’s foreign policy post-WWII to the 1980s. Rather than taking control from the Soviet Union, the USA should try to stop the spread of communism outside the country and ‘contain’ stuff

proxy war, 3 million koreans died and 33k USA’s did. armistice, but no peace treaty. Conflict moved from Europe to Asia and proved that the Cold War was a global issue
