Who was Anton van Leeuwenhoek and what did he do ?
Leeuwenhoek was a Dutch man who looked at drops of pond water .
He also found animalcules or little animals . ( protists are one celled organisms) .
He later found blood cells, yeast cells and bacteria cells .
Who was Robert Hooke and what did he do ?
Robert Hooke coined the word cell which means rooms . He looked at slices of cork . Also looked at the cells of plants.
He used a simple compound microscope.
What is the Cell Theory and who invented each part of the cell theory ?
The Cell theory is :
All living things are made of cells
All cells come from cells
Cells are the basic unit off structure and function in living things
Schwann- all animals are made of cells
Schleiden - all plants are made of cells
Virchow - all cells come from cells
