Monday 14th February-
1) 100,000 workers from 58 different factories were on strike in Petrograd.
2) News that bread would be rationed from 1st March brought violent exchanges.
3) The police were attacked as they struggled to keep order.
What happened on Thursday 23rd Feb (international women’s day) during the Feb Revolution?
1) 90,000 workers were on strike and 50 factories closed.
2) The striking workers joined the traditional march of women from the Petrograd suburbs to the city centre for international Women’s day.
3) The city fell into chaos with 240,000 out on the streets.
What happened Saturday 25th Feb during the Feb Revolution?

2) Soldiers were ordered onto the streets and around 40 demonstrators were killed.
3) 66,000 soldiers mutinied and joined the protesters, arming them with 40,000 rifles.
4) Later that day the Duma held a meeting, despite the Tsar’s orders and set up a 12-man Provisional Committee to take over the gov.
