What is cardiovascular endurance?
The ability of the heart and lungs to keep supplying oxygen to the body in order to provide energy to sustain physical movement
What is the cardiovascular system?
The body system that is referred to when considering the respiratory and circulatory systems working together in unison.
When you take part in sustained activity what will you notice?
- an increase in your breathing rate, your heart rate (pulse) and blood pressure
How do you improve cardiovascular endurance?
You have to keep your heart rate at a high level for a long time. And should aim to work in your aerobic zone, and training zone for 15minutes.
What is blood pressure?
The force of the circulating blood on the walls of the arteries
What is MHR?
Maximum heart rate. (220-age)
How do you test cardiovascular endurance ?
Resting pulse rate: General indicator, the lower it is the better your cardiovascular endurance
Pulse recovery rate: the quicker this returns to normal the higher your endurance.
