What can happen when experiencing fatigue?
- loss of strength & energy
- local muscular fatigue
- concentration loss
- skill level decreases
- forced to stop
What is fatigue?
A feeling of extreme physical or mental tiredness brought on by extreme exertion.
Why is fatigue dangerous?
Carrying on while experiencing fatigue can result in injury because of loss of technique. This is why there is substitutions in sports e.g rugby
What is stress?
It is the body’s reaction to a change that requires a physical, mental or emotional adjustment or response.
What happens when you experience stress?
- excitement can lead to tension and can result in tightness of the muscles which could have a physical effect.
- apprehensive, you may make more mistakes.
- nervousness can result in shaking or feeling sick
- motivation will decrease.
Why do people react differently to stress and fatigue?
People have different personalities and so will deal with it differently

Walking out to bat in cricket could be stressful
