A
- Push the rubber tube on to a gas tap
- Put the Bunsen burner on a heat-proof mat
- CLOSE THE AIR HOLE
- Hold a match or a lighted splint about 5 cm above the chimney
- Turn on the gas

What safety precautions must you use when using a Bunsen burner? - 4

- ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY SPECS
- When you are not using it, make sure it is on a yellow flame or turn it off
- If you are using the blue flame, hold the object you are heating just above the inner cone of the flame
- Always handle the Bunsen burner by its base - it may be hot
