"futur proche": aller + infinitif
What does “futur proche” mean?
Near future
When using “futur proche,” why do you use “aller” conjugated in the present + an infinitive?
Because “aller” means “to be going to __”
Ex: Je vais manger. - I am going to eat.
What are the different conjugations of aller?
Je - vais
Tu - vas
Il, elle, on - va
Nous - allons
vous - allez
ils, elles - vont
Is “aller” an irregular verb?
Oui
Ex: “Qu’est-ce que tu vas acheter? - Where are you going to buy?
“Je vais acheter un short et un t-shirt.” - I am going to buy (a pair of) shorts and a t-shirt.
When negating a sentence with aller in it, where does “ne…pas” go?
