Q

What happened to all of the living tributes except for one during the 70th Hunger Games?

A

The arena in the 70th Hunger Games is described to be a river. Most of the tributes, including all tributes that were part of the Career pack, died when the arena flooded because a dam was broken by an earthquake. Annie Cresta, a girl from District 4 was the only one who lived because of her swimming skills. She witnessed the decapitation of her district partner. That drove her insane.

Q

Describe the arena in the 50th Hunger Games, the Games that were won by Haymitch Abernathy:

A

The arena was “the most breathtaking place imaginable”. The Cornucopia sat in the middle of a sweet-smelling green meadow. The sky was azure blue with fluffy, billowing, white clouds. The meadow stretches for miles, and in far distance there is a snow-capped mountain that later turns out to be a volcano, that kills most of the Career pack. Everything in the arena is poisonous. The only source of food and water that aren’t poisonous are the rain and the food from Cornucopia.
