was a collective struggle for equality,
women fought for greater freedom and to be recognised as equal to men
the peace movement
- rejected materialism
- rejected working for a living and began to share with one another by living in communes
- became vegetarians
- developed a distinctive fashion stile
- preached peace
Betty friedan
- wrote the feminine mystique
- established the National Organization for Wonen (NOW)
- Stated women were dissatisfied with their lives as housewives and encouraged them to fight for their place in society, by working in the world and educating themselves
The moon landing
- was a race between the USA and the USSR to put a man on the moon
- ## part of the space race
Wood stock happened from
15- 18 august 1969
- was originally mean to have taken place in the town of woodstock but was two small until a young man (Sam Yasour) persuaded his dad to have it on their farm
- births and deaths happened, it was so heavily trafficked people walked
