test Flashcards
content validity
involves looking at the method of measurement and deciding whether it measures the intended content.
example of content validity
eg- the researcher could ask an independent expert on stress to evaluate the most effective measurement of stress and wether his stress questionare is effective enough. The expert could suggest improvements or might approve of the method being used, thus dealing with content validity
internal reliability
assesses the consistency of results across items within a single test. it’s a measure of the extent to which something is consistent within itself
test-retest method
this method assesses the external reliability of a test such as questionnaires, measuring stability of a test overtime.
A typical amssesment would involve giving ppts the same test on two separate occasions. if the same or similar results are obtained, than external reliability is established
