- escaping tissue fluid forms a blister
What is the healing for a second degree burn?
- stem cells from accessory structures form new epidermis
- typically no scarring
- also called full thickness burn
- injures epidermis, dermis, and the accessory structures of the skin
third degree burn
What are the symptoms of third degree burns?
- skin becomes dry and leathery
- skin may appear black, white, or red
What is the healing of a third degree burn?
- epidermis may be totally destroyed so a skin graft is required
- extensive scarring
