What are the steps to use a temperature probe?
A
Clean and disinfect the temperature probe
Turn it on
Insert the probe into the thickest part of the food without it touching a bone or tin
Wait for the gauge to settle and take a reading
The temperature should be 75°C or higher
Clean and disinfect the probe before using again

How do you check if a temperature probe is working?
A
Crush some ice in a beaker with some cold water. The temperature should be between -1°C and 1°C
Then test it with the steam of a boiling kettle. The temperature should be between 99°C and 101°C
