Techniques for LL Rehab after ABI Flashcards

Q

MF

A

= Manual facilitation
- Incr. step length during swing phase (greater trochanter & opposite hip key point of control)
- facilitating 1st contact & weight shift (during stance) -> push down at the end => incr. proprioception

Q

EF

A

= Early facilitation
Purpose : to make a mvt easier to execute => facilitate mvt during gait
-> sitted or supported standing exercise
What can also happen ( what we wish for):
- incr motor control & AROM & PROM

Q

MVF

A

= Mirror Visual feedback
- incr. sensory & perceptual function
by incr. balance, PROM & step length
=> incr. motor control
-> always sitted

Q

OGT

A

= Overground gait training
- incr. specific function => incr. AROM, balance in gait
-> supported exercise
-> walking exercise

Q

MAS

A

= Minimal assistance strategy
- incr. AROM, balance => impr. gait
-> repeat gait cycles + UL/trunk tasks
-> w/ gait assistance (mostly on treadmill)

Q

Partial body weight supported treadmil training

A
  • impr. gait function
    -> body weight not impairing gait
    -> can be combined with OGT & body weight support
