Preventative Taping
A
- Athlete uses rigid tape on joint to prevent injury
- Works by pulling on athletes skin to stimulate the muscles around the joint to reduce movement
- Athletes may become reliant on taping
- Decrease muscle strength

Taping for Isolation of Injury
A
- Reducing pain
- Preventing further injury during rehabilitation
- Sprain ankle, wrists
- Increase stability
- Decrease range of motion

Taping for Immediate Treatment of Injury
A
- RICER
- Applies pressure to move fluid away, reduce inflammation, reduce bleeding
- Should go across the joint, connecting two or more bones on either side
