Preventative Taping

A
  • Athlete uses rigid tape on joint to prevent injury
  • Works by pulling on athletes skin to stimulate the muscles around the joint to reduce movement
  • Athletes may become reliant on taping
  • Decrease muscle strength

  • Sprain ankle, wrists
  • Increase stability
  • Decrease range of motion

  • RICER

  • Should go across the joint, connecting two or more bones on either side
