special test: test named for specific pathology
ligamentous test: graded 1-4 on laxity, grade 3 is torn

-cap refill
-pulse
dermatome
-area of skin innervated by a nerve (C1-C8, T1-T12, and L1-L5, S1-S3
-is the pain sharp or dull
sensation
-all separate dermatomes

group of muscles served by a nerve root C1/C2, C3, C4, C5, C6, C7, C8, T1. L1/L2, L3, L4, L5, S1, S2
-wiggle toes
