Q

MMT hamstrings

A

biceps femoris
-tibia is rooted out (toes out) and have patient prone resisting knee flexion
semitendinosus&semimembranosus
- tibia is rotated in (toes in), have patient prone and resist knee flexion

Q

MMT quads

A

rectus femoris
-have patient sitting off the edge of the table, kick slightly and try to push their leg down (knee extension but also hip flexion)
vastus medialis, vastus lateralis, vastus intermedius
-have patient sitting off the edge of the table, kick up slightly and try to break them out of it

Q

Valgus stress test

A

-test for the medial collateral ligament & medial capsule of knee
-positive test: laxity and/or pain
-have the patient lay supine do a valves force to the knee at 0 degrees and 30 degrees
-laxity at 0 degrees-worse- injury to MCL and medial capsule
-only have laxity at 30- just injury to MCL

A

-test for the lateral collateral ligament as well as the lateral capsule of the knee
-positive: laxity/pain
-have patient lay supine, do a cards force to the knee at 0 degrees and 30 degrees
-laxity at 0 degrees it is worse- injury to LCL and capsule
-laxity at 30 degrees just injury at LCL

Q

Lachman’s test

A

-patient supine, the knee is in about 20-30 degrees of knee flexion (acl stops the tibia from moving in front of the femur)
-one hand stabilizes the femur and the other hand is trying to move the tibia forward
-for all tear
-positive: laxity
