feiss line
-dot on distal end of medial malleolus and head of first metatarsal, and on the navicular tubercle, draw a line
-above the line per cavus (high arch)
-below the line per planes (flat foot)
navicular drop test
-dot on the navicular tubercle, non weight bearing- have them weight bear and see if it dries
-pes planus diagnosis
-if fall is greater than 10mm, positive for functional pes planus
supple pes planus
have patient non weight bear, identify the presence of medial longitudinal arch, then stand bearing weight, is there still a space, have patient go on their toes , is the arch still there
-pain during arch and arch disappears
interdigital neuroma
-grab 2 metatarsal heads and squeeze them together, doing an anterior and posterior shear
-usually seen 3rd and 4th metatarsal
-morton’s neuroma- an irritated bundle of nerves
-pain, tingling, burning and pain
tarsal tunnel
-tibial nerve runs, you tap; looking for numbness, tingling burning and pain
-tibial nerve irritation
-an irritation or inflammation of tibial nerve
anterior drawer test
-one hand stabilizing tip/fib area, other hand is pulling ankle forward
-for the anterior talofibular ligament
-looking for laxity, pain in the sinus tarsi where the ATF is
