Explain what happens when you switch your computer on
Instructions stored in ROM tells computer what to do. This is called booting.

Hardware, memory and task
Hardware: Disk management = manages how data is stored and how +when it can be accessed
Memory: ensures 2 complex tasks that occur at the same time don’t take up RAM from one place
Task: Used to terminate faulty processes
Difference between single and multi user operating system
Single comes as default.
Multi is when multiple people can access a computer. Used in servers and networks
File management terms. Discuss path, attributes, metadata, and compressing
Path: path of succession of folders leading to a specific file
Attributes: read only/hidden
Metadata: invisible data that describes a file. Eg. file size
Compressing: reduces a files size by compressing it into a smaller version
What are backups? Why are backups necessary?
Copies of data stored separately from the original copy
-corrupt files
-deleted or overwritten files
-hardware failures
-theft
-viruses
What are the security tools of computers?
Access control: Asks users permission before installing anything
Firewall: A barrier between computers and internet to protect it from malware
Security: a setting in the settings to check the health of computer and recommendations to protect your computer.
