- caused by a permanent lesion in descending motor neurons.
- Clonus may be found at the ankle, patella, triceps surae, wrist, jaw, biceps brachii.

- a motor disorder characterised by a velocity-dependent increase in tonic stretch reflexes (muscle tone)
