Definition of “patient”
A recipient of psychological services
Corporate entities or other organizations who receive services from a psychologist
Minors/legally incompetent adults who have legal guardians
Treatment decisions with incompetent or minor persons
Legal guardians are the client for decision making, but the patient is the one receiving clinical services
When an organization is the client, the person does not have confidentiality unless there is an understanding that the information in question was obtained via a separate therapeutic relationship
