Where is the origin of the Superior, Horizontal, Inferior fibers ?
Medial 1/3rd of the sup nuchal line, external occipital protuberance, nuchal lig, and and apices of the spinous processes of C7 to T12.
Where is the location of the Superior, Horizontal, Inferior fibers ?
Lateral third of clavicle, acromion, and spine of scapula
What is the nerves in the Superior, Horizontal, Inferior fibers ?
Spinal root of accessory nerve and 3rd and 4th cervical nerves.
What is the function of the superior fibers ?
Elevate the scapula
What is the function of the middle ( horizontal ) fibers ?
They retract
What is the function of the inferior fibers ?
They act together in superior rotation of the scapula.
What is the origin of the latissimus dorsi ?
Spinous processus of inferior 6 thoracic vertebrae, thoracolumbar fascia, iliac crest, and inferior 3 or 4 ribs.
