succinylcholine (anectine) Flashcards
name (trade)
anectine
class
neuromuscular blocker (depolarizing)
desciption
brief neuromuscular block
mechanism of action
causes paralysis by interfering w/ neural transmission at the myoneural junction
depolarizing drugs also bind to the receptors for aceylcholine. they cause depolarization of the muscle membrane, they often lead to fasciculations and some muscle contractions
