Foetal alcohol disorder=later development abnormalities
Prenatal drinking with long term cognitive/behavioural changes
Smoking if pregnancy
Distinct outcomes Damage to umbilical structure Increase risk of ectopic placental abruption Misscarriage LBW
Cannabis in pregnancy
PReterm labour, LBW, SGA, NICU admission
prenatal cannabs linked- adverse consequences of growth of foetal/adolescent brains
Reduced attention

Cocaine in pregnancy
PROM, placental abruption, preterm

memphamphetamine linked with similar shorter gestation, LBW, development issues, HTN/eclampsia
Opioids in pregnancy
LBW, Resp issues, 3rd trim bleed, toxaemia, microcephaly, SIDS
neonatal abstinence syndrome- if opioids during preg when baby comes out can have withdrawall
45-94% of the kids are exposed (methadonee etc)
present irritable, feeding issue, tremors, hypertonia, emesis, seizures, resp distress
