What is the function of the Nasal Cavity?
Allows and filters air that comes through the nose
What is the function of the Pharynx?
It carries air, food and fluid from the nose & mouth
What is the function of the Larynx?
Protects the lower part of the respiratory system from breathing food into the trachea
What is the function of the Epiglottis?
Prevents food from entering the stomach
What is the function of the Trachea?
Carries oxygen down to the lungs
What is the function of the Bronchus?
Carries air to the left & right lung
What is the function of the Bronchioles?
Carries air to small sacs in the lungs called the alveoli
What is the function of the lobes?
Bring oxygen into the bloodstream and removing carbon dioxide
What is the function of the Diaphragm?
Allows the chest to contract and expand due to inhalation & exhalation.
