if I have the mass of a CH2CH4 and want to find the moles what steps do I take?
mass/molecular mass= moles
1) find the molecular mass of CH2CH4
-look at periodic table
C=12 , H=1
hence the molecular mass is 12+2+12+4=30 g/mol
2) now we can complete the equation
mass/30=moles

If I have the moles of a CH2CH4 and want to find the mass what steps do I take??
mass/molecular mass= moles
hence
mass = molecular mass x moles
1) find the molecular mass of CH2CH4
-look at periodic table
C=12 , H=1
hence the molecular mass is 12+2+12+4=30 g/mol
2) now we can complete the equation with 30 x moles= mass
DONE
If I have the equation of CH4+ 302 –> CO2 + 2H2O
how many moles of CH4 do I have if I have six moles O2
answer=2
1)find the molar ratio between the molecule with the known moles and the molecule with the unknown moles you are trying to figure out
-the coefficient of O2 is 3 in this equation
-the coefficient of CH4 has no number so it is 1
2) now you get ur moles and times by the unknown/known
6 x 1/3 =2
that’s your answer
what does ICE FC stand for
I=intial moles
C=change in moles
E=moles at equilibrium
FC= final concentration
how to do an ICE FC question
when to do an ICE FC question
Q=m x c x (final temp - initial temp)
mass= mass of water (to convert ml to g times by 0.997)
c= 4.18
