STI - Systems Flashcards
What does trim air do?
Controls the zone temperatures. Hot trim air from the bleed system is added through trim air valves, which are modulated to achieve the target temperature
Which bleed system supplies trim air to the flight deck?
Left engine bleed
What does the left hydraulic system power?
Flight Controls
Left Thrust Reverser
What does the right hydraulic system power?
Flight Controls
Right Thrust Reverser
Normal Brakes
Explain left and right, primary and demand hydraulic pumps
Primary pumps:
Engine driven
Demand pumps:
Electrically driven
Operate for take off, landing and whenever the system pressure demands it
In AUTO the RIGHT demand pump runs continuously on the ground
What does the centre hydraulic system power?
Flight Controls Slats and Flaps Landing Gear Alternate Brakes Nose and Main Gear Steering
Which hydraulic system does the RAT power?
Centre
Explain the centre system, primary and demand pumps
Primary pumps:
Electrically driven
Demand pumps:
Air driven
In AUTO, operates only when system demands it
In ON, only C1 pump will operate, both pumps cannot run simultaneously
Which systems are isolated with centre hydraulic system low, and >60 knots
Alternate brakes
Nose gear steering
Flaps/Slats (operate electrically)
Alternate flap and slat extensions are limited to what?
Flaps 20 and mid slats
How are the three flap modes actuated?
Primary - Hydraulic
Secondary - Electric
Alternate - Electric
What is the CDL?
Configuration Deviation List
Covers deficiencies externally that affect airplane performance such as missing fairings, service and access panels etc
What does an IDG do?
When an engine starts, the IDG automatically powers the respective main bus
Can be disconnected from the busses by pushing the generator control switch to OFF, as well as physically disconnected by pushing the respective drive disconnect switch (in which case, the IDG cannoy be reconnected)
