Q

Cabin Altitude

A

Don the oxygen masks
Establish crew communications
Check the cabin altitude and rate
If the cabin altitude is uncontrollable:
PASS OXYGEN switch PUSH to ON and hold for 1 second
Without delay, descend to the lowest safe altitude or 10,000 feet, whichever is higher.
To descend:
Move the thrust levers to idle
Extend the speedbrakes
If structural integrity is in doubt:
Limit airspeed and avoid high maneuvering loads
Descend at VMO/MMO

At level off altitude
Flight crew must use oxygen when cabin altitdue is above 10,000 feet. If 100% or EMERGENCY is not needed, the regulator must be set to normal

Q

TCAS RA for a climb RA in landing configuration?

A

Disengage the autopilot and autothrottle
Advance thrust levers forward to ensure maximum thrust is attained and call for Flaps 20
Smoothly adjust pitch to satisfy the RA command
Follow the planned lateral flight path unless visual contact with the conflicting traffic requires other action
After a positive rate of climb is established, call for GEAR UP

Q

GPWS Warning

A

PULL UP PULL UP

Disengage the autopilot
Disconnect autothrottles
Aggressively apply maximum thrust
Simultaneously roll wings level and rotate to an initial pitch attitude of 20 degrees
Retract speedbrakes
IF terrain remains a threat:
Continue rotation up to the PLI or stick shaker or initial buffet

Do not change configuration until terrain separation is assured
Monitor radio altimeter for sustained or increasing terrain separation

When clear of terrain:
Slowly decrease pitch attitude and accelerate

In IMC continue to MSA and all warnings stop
In VMC continue until all warnings stop

16
Q

Windshear past V1?

A

Perform the windshear escape maneuver

If encountered near the normal rotation speed, and airspeed suddenly decreases there may not be enough runway left to regain normal rotation speed. Initiate rotation speed at least 2000’ before end of the runway, higher than normal attitudes may be required to lift off in the remaining runway. Ensure maximum thrust is set

17
Q

Manual Windshear Escape Maneuver

A
Manual:
Announce 'WINDSHEAR'
Disengage autopilot
Push either TOGA switch
Aggressively apply maximum thrust
Disconnect autothrottles
Simultaneously roll wings level and rotate toward an initial pitch attitude of 15 degrees
Retract speedbrakes
Follow flight director TOGA guidance
18
Q

Automatic Windshear Escape Maneuver

A
Automatic flight:
Announce 'WINDSHEAR'
Push either TOGA switch
Verify TOGA mode annunciation
Verify GA thrust
Retract speedbrakes
Monitor system performance
19
Q

Rejected Take Off

A

Without delay:
Simultaneously
Call STOP
Close thrust levers and disconnect autothrottles
Apply maximum manual wheel brakes or verify operation of RTO autobrakes
Apply reverse thrust up to the maximum amount consistent with conditions
Verify speedbrakes extended
Continue maximum braking until certain the airplane will stop on the runway

When airplane is stopped:
Make a PA announcement either initiating the alert phase or consider a normal PA
Perform the NNC
Advise ATC of intentions
Review Brake Cooling Schedule

PM:
Verify actions by the PF
Call speedbrakes up and REV green (or applicable)
Advise the tower through the phrase “STOPPING”
60 knots
Advise ATC of intentions once stopped

20
Q

TCAS TA actions

A

Look for traffic using traffic display as a guide, call out conflicting traffic. If sighted, maneuver as needed

21
Q

TCAS RA actions

A

If maneuvering required:
Disengage the autopilot and disconnect the autothrottle
Smoothly adjust pitch and thrust to satisfy the RA command
Follow the planned lateral flight path unless visual contact with the conflicting traffic requires other action
Attempt to establish visual contact, call out conflicting traffic

22
Q

Airspeed Low

A

Verify autothrottle ‘wake up’ (will return the aircraft to MMS)
If not, select an appropriate autopilot mode such as VS and descend to alternate altitude

23
Q

Approach to Stall actions

A
Stall/Attitude
Disengage(?)
Push
Roll
Thrust
Stabilise
(Only call stabilised once at least MMS+20, with appropriate AFDS modes selected, such as FLCH and autopilot and autothrottle engaged)
