What are the advantages of salpingectomy?
high contraceptive efficacy, prevention of future tubal disease, and possibly the opportunity to decrease the risk of ovarian cancer in patients who already are undergoing pelvic surgery for benign disease

an alternative form of contraception must be used until a semen analysis confirms azoospermia. Most men are azoospermic at 3 months after vasectomy, and 98–99% are azoospermic at 6 months after vasectomy
