1st line Therapy for C. Diff?
Treatment of choice is oral vancomycin (125mg four times daily for ten days) or fidaxomicin (200mg twice daily for ten days).
How often should asymptomatic patients have follow up stool assays for C Diff?
Not recommended [as they frequently remain positive for weeks after treatment]
DD Diarrhea?
Infectious causes
Bowel stimulants (e.g. magnesium-containing antacids or proton pump inhibitors)
Intolerance to a specific dietary component (e.g. lactose or gluten)
Inflammatory bowel disease
Malabsorption.

Passage of three or more loose or watery stools in a 24-hour period

Absent or abnormal peristalsis after surgery causing a functional obstruction without mechanical blockage.
DD ileus?
