Q

How do you do the binomial sign test

A

1: data is categorised into a table of results
2: assign a sign to the different flows of direction and then write the sign for each participant (yes—> no= + no—>yes = - )
3: calculate the total for each sign
4: the smallest of the two totals becomes the observed value
5: find the critical value when p<_0.05 and n=__
6: write conclusion/significance statement

Q

How do you do a wilcoxon signed ranks

A

1:calculate the difference between each individual rating for each condition
2:then rank the differences
3:then calculate the observed value by summing the ranks of the least frequent sign
4:then find the critical value at p<_ 0.05 and n=__
5: see if results are significant

How do you do a Mann Whitney U stats test

A

1:rank the scores across the 2 conditions
2:find the total of the ranks for both conditions
3:find the total number of participants for both conditions
4:then put the values into the equation
5:use the smaller of u1 and u2 as your observed value
