List the many things implied in education.
Grades, Test Performance, Reflection Criteria
Connection to standards
What students should know, be able to do, and used to evaluate teachers and
principles
Formative assessment
Assessment used throughout teaching of a lesson and/or unit to gauge students’ understanding and inform and helps guide teaching so you can continue to teach to what the students have not fully understood yet. (Student essays) Projects and portfolios
Summative assessment
Assessment data collected after instruction to evaluate a student’s mastery of the curriculum objectives and a teacher’s effectiveness at instructional
delivery. (standardized tests)
Diagnostic
When you are trying to see where there is a discrepancy in the student and what the student can achieve. These can be physical , mental, reading
disabilities you can test to see where that discrepancy is between what they know and what they are having trouble with
Norm-referenced
a test is norm-referenced when students are measured in relation to other students who are in the same grade, place and type, in other words, a “norm
Criterion
Is being referenced against criteria that’s required for the students to know
Capstone/Summative culminating assessment
A type of culminating assessment to see what students know
Authentic Assessments
These are more performance measurements, focus on you showing what you can do in a practical and real world application (journals, portfolios, interviews,
observations, and projects. They are graded through a rubric)
Rubric
Scoring guides that describe what learners should know and be able to do at
different levels of competence, such as developing, proficient, and advanced.
