Describe slavery in the colonies

A

Southern colonies: It spread rapidly and was very popular. They helped raise tobacco, indigo and other cash crops.
Middle/New England Colonies: Less slaves were found here because colonists in the middle/New England colonies thought that hiring workers when needed cost less than owning slaves.
All 3 regions had slavery it was just mainly found in the south. More indentured servants in NE/ Middle colonies.

A

In Colonial families, men got married to women in their early to mid 20s. They usually had 7-10 kids and all family members lived together.
Leisure time included hosting bees and frolics, with kids playing games.
