What are the advantages of the British?
The British had
• way more settlers
• a smaller amount of space so that means there is less land to defend

What is the difference in the way of life between English colonies and New France?
English colonists were looking to start families and were into farming. Whereas the French were not starting families and were trading fur.
What cities are there in New France?
Quebec and Montreal
Why were the British losing in the beginning of the war?
The British were much better at organizing themselves, which resulted in the loss of several forts, like Fort William Henry and Fort Oswego. They also couldn’t capture Fort Duquesne.
What geographic area are they fighting over and Why?
They were arguing about the Ohio River Valley because the French wanted to prevent the English from spreading into their area. The Ohio River Valley was also really important for their fur trade.
What happened at Fort William Henry?
After Edward Braddock at fort necessity died, the Algonquians and the French launched an attack on Fort William Henry. They were successful in the battle, indicating that the war was off to a bad start for the English.

Pittsburg.
Why is the capture of Fort Louisbourg so important?
The capture of Fort Louisbourg was the result of a plan by William Pitt. This event was significant because it marked a turning point for the English, and shortly after, they also took control of Fort Ticonderoga and Fort Duquesne.

The city of Quebec fell, which was vital for French defense. They won with fierce fighting
What was the role of the Spanish in the French and Indian war?
The Spanish were to the west of north america, except for florida, which they owned. The Spanish also were french allies, the main reason being after the treaty of paris was signed, the english made them hand over florida, but were also friends during the war. The French appreciated the Spanish for their support during the war and, in return, gave them a portion of their land.
What was William Pitt’s role in the French and Indian War?
William Pitt becoming Prime Minister was the turning point for the British. He sent hundreds of ships, soldiers and resources to surround and defeat Ft. Louisbourg. His plan was successful and Ft. Louisbourg fell. Shortly after Ft. Ticonderoga and Ft. Duquesne also fell.
What is the Albany Plan of Union and what were the results of the meeting?
The Albany plan of Union,proposed by Benjamin Franklin, to make one central government in the colonies. They made a slogan “Join or Die” to try to attract colonists to the idea. At the end of the meeting the colonists refused because they wanted to keep their self-government and didn’t want to share their power with the rest of the colonies.
What treaty ended the French and Indian war and what did it say?
The Treaty of Paris was approved and signed in 1763. It gave all of Canada, and land west of the Mississippi River to the British; the French only got Nova Scotia and Haiti.
