What is a open skill?
Open skill is where the situation is always changing, like football and netball, the player has to continually adapt to the situation.
What is a closed skill?
Closed skills Take place in a stable, predictable evironmemt, and the player knows exactly what to do and when, like a penalty or free throw.
What is a Complex Skill?
A complex skill needs the player’s complete attention and concentrationas it is technicall difficult to perform (penalty kick in football).
What is a Basic Skill?
A basic skill is one that the player finds easy and need little concentration to do (like a pass in football).
What is a Low Skill?
A low organisation skill has a clear, simplephases or parts (for example, a set shot in basketball).
What is a High Skill?
A high organisation skill has a lot of complicated phases ore parts for example, a somersault in trampolining.
What is a Massed Practice?
Massed practice where the skill is practised until it is learned, without taking a break - normally athletes who are fit and experienced.
What is Distributed Practice?
Distributed practice, is where the skill is practised over severalsession, or with rest breaks- tend to be low ability of fitness.
What is Fixed Practice?
Fixed practice is where the skill is practised over and over again until it is perfected (freethrow in basketball).
What is Variable Practice?
Variable Practice involves practising the skill in a variety of different situations, sp that it can be adapted to suit different competitive situations.
What is Visual Guidance?
Visual guidence is seeing the skill, for example the coach get him or a teammate to perform it. Not be used for beginners.
What is Verbal Guidence?
Verbal guidence is were you talk about how to do the skill, but can be a barrier of being deaf and should be partnered with visual guidence.
What is Manual Guidence?
Manual guidence is physically touching the performer to get them into the right position.
What is Mechanical Guidence?
Mechanical guidence is useing equipment to the performer into the right position.
What is Intrinsic Feedback?
Intrinsic feedback is feedback coming from yourself, on how you feel they performed or contributed to the team.
What is Extrinsic Feedback?
Extrinsic feedback come from a outside source, such as a coach or teamate on your performance.
What is Concurrent Feedback?
Concurrent feedback is given at the time of the performance, for example the coach on the sideline. So you can immediatley correct it.
What is Terminal Feedback?
Terminal feedback is given at the end of a game or performance, being reflective on the whole performance.
