A
Once DNA is transcribed into mRNA it undergoes a process called splicing. During this process portions of mRNA (introns) are removed. The remaining portions are called exons and these are translated into protein.

Introns are DNA regions within a gene that are not translated into protein. These non-coding sections are transcribed to precursor mRNA and then removed by splicing which results in mature RNA.
