Spirometer Trace Flashcards
Describe how Tidal Volume changes from rest to excersise
Tidal Volume inceases as the normal amount of air inhaled is more during excersise
Describe how Inspiratory Reserve Volume changes from rest to excersise
Inspiratory Reserve Volume decreases as the amount of extra air is less as you find yourself more out of breath when excercising so you find yourself taking in shorter breaths
Describe how Residual volume changes from rest to excersise
Residual volume stays the same as the amount of air that remains in your lungs that you normally have will always be the same as it’s the default amount
Describe how vital capacity changes from rest to excersise
Vital capacity stays the same because the largest amount on volume in your lungs cannot increase or decsrease. It’s the maximum you can intake.
Describe how Expiratory reserve volume changes from rest to excersise
Expiratory reserve volume decreases because as the amount of extra air is less and you breathe a lot more out as you do usually
