Beta Blockers may be used in archery as they reduce stress and adrenaline levels making you more likely to be able to aim for where you want the arrow to go, however a huge downside to this is increasing your chances of a having a heart attack

Diuretics may be used in boxing as they can help with weight loss which could be very useful if the player is trying to get in the lower weight class or has to for their fight. This also happens quickly however, could be awful for boxing as it weakens your muscles meaning that you potentially could be weaker than your opponent in the match

Narcotic Analgestics could be used in spriting as if you roll your ankle before the race it won’t have much affect on you as this drug will mask it. It will also make the athlete train harder which could be a bad thing as they will tire themselves out.
Describe why Stimulants may be used in swimming
Stimulants may be used in swimming because they reduce your reation time meaning that the swimmer will get a better start as their alertness is higher physically and mentally. On the down side, it can increase chances of a stroke.
Describe why Anabolic Agents- Steriods may be used in weight lifting
Steriods may be used in weight lifting as it makes recovery time shorter making the player be able to get back into training quicker. It also increases bone and musce growth making the player stronger and therefore be able to lift more. The down side of this is increae in heart disease.
Describe why a cyclist may use Peptide Hormones- EPOs
A cyclist may use EPOs as they increae the producion of red blood cells making them carry more oxygen meaning that they won’t get as tired as quickly. On the downside it can also cause strokes which can be a huge impact of someones health.
Describe the Blood Doping process
First of all, the blood of the player is removed a few weeks before competition, during this time the althete will continue to train as normal. Then, the blood is frozen creating more blood cells. The blood is later re-injected 1-2 days before competition increasing oxygen making their arousal higher.
