Spirograph/big diagram notes Flashcards
Spirogrpah
Used to measure the amount of air in each breath
Tidal volume
Volume of air inhaled and exhaled in a normal breath
Inspiratory volume
Additional air taken in (beyond normal)
Expiratory Reserve volume
Addotial air that can forced out of lungs (beyond normal)
Vital capacity
Total lung volume of air inhaled and exhaled
Residual volume
Gas that is always in lungs so they dont colapse
When oxygen is inhaled what does it do to reach the capalries
Ride on hemoglobin on red blood cells
What happens when oxygen meets capilaries
Glucose is added to oxyen to create carbon dioxide and water
How do What does water and carbon dioxide do
Make carbonic acid which H2CO3 which is bad and cells want to get rid of CO2
What does blood do to get rid of CO2
Make biocarbonate to hide CO2
H HCO3
What happens after cells hide CO2
Enzyme converts biocrbonate to carbonic acid to only Co2 and is sent back to alveloi
H HCO3
H2 CO3
H2O CO2 (done)
