A
- How we use our voice to communicate our thoughts

What 3 things does speech consists of
A
- Articulation: ability to produce specific sounds
- Voice: quality of the sound we produce & consists of pitch, loudness, & resonance
- Fluency: AKA stuttering and refers to the smoothness & rhythm of speech

A
- Consists of socially shared rules (grammar, semantics, etc.) for how we use words to communicate our thoughts

- Receptive: what one can understand; can include following directions & pointing to pictures
- Expressive: how we use & combine words to share thoughts, ideas, & communicate wants and needs
- Pragmatic: the social use of language consisting of knowing what to say, how to say it, & when to say it
