Espumosos de Calidad de Rioja, the first of which are expected to be released in 2019. To qualify, the white or rosé wines must be made in the traditional method (second fermentation taking place in the bottle) with a minimum aging period of 15 months (or 24 months for Reserva, and 36 months for Gran Añada). The final alcohol must be between 11% and 13% ABV, and the wines must be approved by a tasting panel.
