What is cluttered space?
Cluttered space is an artwork with many objects in it. It has very little negative space.
What is empty space?
Empty space is an artwork with few objects in it. It has a lot of negative space.
Name the methods that can be used to create the illusion of space on a flat surface.
Overlapping creates depth.
Reduction in size is when objects will get smaller higher up on a page or canvas.
Using colour means that you will use warm colours in the foreground, and cold colours in the background.
Atmospheric perspective means that the landscape will be smoky further back, (sfumato) because the atmosphere makes the details or colours blurred.
Details will be reduced the further back you go.

Space is used to create illusion and feeling.
What is deep space?
Deep space is an illusion of a big distance between two objects.
What is shallow space?
Shallow space is when the illusion of distance between two objects is small.
