What is the definition of spectrum?
The spectrum is all the colours in rainbow order.
What is the rainbow order? (ROYGBIV)
Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet
What is the definition of primary colours?
Primary colours are colours that cannot be mixed. All other colours are made from them.
What are the primary colours?
The primary colours are Red, Yellow and Blue. They cannot be found by mixing colours together.
What is the definition of secondary colours?
Secondary colours are the colours you get when you mix two primary colours together.
What are the secondary colours?
The secondary colours are Orange, Green and Purple.
What are tertiary colours?
Tertiary colours are created when you mix complimentary primary and secondary colours together. They are all different variations of brown.
What are intermediate colours?
Intermediate colours are tertiary colours, but the secondary and primary colours that are mixed together to create the intermediate colour are next to each other on the colour wheel.
What are complimentary colours?
Complimentary colours are colours that are opposite each other on the colour wheel.
What are analogous colours?
Analogous colours are colours that are next to each other on the colour wheel. When making examples of analogous colours, you can only include one primary colour.
What is a monochromatic colour scheme?
A monochromatic colour scheme is a colour scheme where a single colour is used, but different tones of that colour are used.
What is an achromatic colour scheme?
An achromatic colour scheme is a colour scheme where only neutral colours are used.
What is the definition of colour?
Colour is when certain light wavelengths are reflected by some objects. We perceive this reflection as colour.
What is a warm colour?
A warm colour is any colour with red in it, except for darker shades of purple. Yellow on its own is a warm colour.
What is a cold colour?
A cold colour is any colour with blue in it.
