Primary Source
source produced from the actual time period; such as a diary, journal, video, etc.
Secondary Source
source produced by someone who did not witness or participate in the event; such as encyclopedias, textbooks, etc.

Contextualization, Sourcing, Logical (Evidence Based Argumentation)
Sourcing
the process of gathering sources covering a historical event & evaluating the credibility
Credibility
quality of being believable, or worthy of trust
Qualifications
education, skills, & experiences that make someone a credible source
Perspective
particular viewpoint of a given source
Bias
preference of view based on personal connection, instead of fact or truth
Thesis
logical based argument that is defendable by evidence
Refute
to disprove, not
Cite
to refer back to sources that you used
Context
the time, place, & other factors surrounding a historical event
Contextualization
the process of understanding the time period, applying it to a historical topic
