Q
II. What does the Bible say about the spiritual condition of man apart from Jesus Christ?
A
- Ephesians 2:1-3: And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience, among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

Q
III. How does a person get saved?
A
- Romans 10:9-11: If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in Him will not be put to shame.”
- Step 1: Believe: You must accept/believe Jesus is who He says He is and did what He says He did.
- Step 2: Follow: “Confess with your mouth” = making the choice to follow Jesus … Great Commission/make disciples

A
- IF truly saved, then no …
- Not “Once saved always saved” but “If saved always saved”
- There is a difference between an emotional high and a conscious daily choice to obey/follow the truth.
- Romans 8:38-39: For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- 2 Timothy 1:12b: … and I am convinced that He is able to guard until that Day what has been entrusted to me.
