Purser/Purser. International Purser/Purser must contact Crew Scheduling.
The FAA minimum crew must be on board prior to customer boarding. On augmented staffing flights, the
total required augmented staffing must be on board prior to departure.

The captain is required to conduct a predeparture briefing with the International Purser/Purser and the entire crew (if possible).
Flight attendant briefings provide an opportunity for the captain and crew
to establish a composed, positive, professional tone that will last for the duration of the flight.
The Captain should strive to conduct the briefing as early as possible to minimize disruption to other
predeparture duties of the pilots and flight attendants, and minimize potential delays to customers.
This briefing may be conducted before or after preflight safety checks are complete.

Where can the IP/P - FA briefings be held?
All briefings are to be conducted on the aircraft, except when the aircraft is not ready or available. If unable to brief on the aircraft, the briefing is to be held in an alternative location away from customers
or in the jetbridge.
What are some items of discussion in the IP/P - FA Crew breifing?
- During briefing, the International Purser/Purser should have their eFAOM available, reinforce the requirement to report for duty with all required safety-related duty items, and to carry appropriate items while on duty.
- Crew introductions.
- Aircraft type and specific configuration.
- Review jumpseat and work positions/responsibilities by referring to the staffing sheet information.
- Customs and Immigration forms distribution (international only).
- Infant life vest distribution/collection.
- Onboard sales.
- If captain was unable to brief entire crew, the International Purser/ Purser is responsible for
ensuring remaining crewmembers are given information from captain’s briefing.
Crew specifics:
- FAA minimum crew required for customer boarding and departure.
- Number of working flight attendants.
- Flight specific information found in the My Flight app.
- Flight attendant boarding time, if applicable.
- Customer boarding time.
- Destination-specific entry procedures (international flights only).
- Safety and security expectations:
- Door procedures including arming, disarming, cross check, and All Call.
NOTE:
Inform that if 60 days have passed since working a particular fleet of aircraft, United Safety Policy requires flight attendants to review fleet-specific door arming/disarming videos located in the Door Operations app on Link.
