A/C General Flashcards
Which have circuit breakers?
- each galley
- a/c w/ power seats and IFE and/or laptop power ports
- if an overload or electrical malfunction occurs, a circuit breaker will pop out
What should be done if a circuit breaker pops out?
- Don’t touch it. Notify captain immediately
- Notify remaining FAs which circuit breaker has popped out and Captain was notified
- If Captain directs to reset it, push it in only once (do not hold it in)
- Notify captain of result after reset
- If circuit breaker causes an electrical fire, take action to fight the fire
Cart Release Tool
- on 77G, 77M and 77O a/c only
- for what? when a galley cart becomes stuck on a galley or aisle pop-up (mushroom)
- Location: compartment fwd of door 1R
Master Call Panels
- part of communication sys.
- also known as annunciator bars
- Location: throughout cabin
- Why?: assist w/ communications betw. crewmembers and customers
Interphone
- crew-to-crew communication (flight deck to FA or FA to FA)
- visual indicator: pink/red light on master call panel
- audible indicator: single HI-LO chime over cabin PA
Customer Call from Seat
- Visual indicator: blue light on master call panel
- Audible indicator: single chime over cabin PA
- Can be reset by pressing Customer Call button a second time or pressing customer call reset button, or IFE, CSCP/CACP panels (dependent upon a/c)
Customer Call from Lavatory
- Visual indicator: amber light on master call panel and/or customer call reset button outside lavatory door
- Audible indicator: single chime over cabin PA
- Can be reset by pressing Customer Call button inside lav a second time or pressing customer call reset button outside lav

- Visual indicator: Flashing Dual Red
- Chime Source: Emergency call from flight deck
B777-200 (all except 77E)
- Visual indicator: Flashing Dual Red

- Visual indicator: Solid Pink

- Chime Source: Emergency All call
PA Announcement Priorities
PA announcements ordered as follows:
Flight Deck (PA announcements)
FA (PA Direct Access Anncmt on 777 & 787) *only used if dialling sys inoperative or an emergency
FA (Priority announcement on 777 & 787)
FA (PA announcements)
PRAMs (Pre-recorded Automated anncmts)

Boarding Music
Sterile Flight Deck Light
- indicates FD should be contacted only for safety-related items
- illuminated after closure of boarding door and prior to surface mvt
- switched off when a/c climbs above 10,000 ft
- switched on again on final descent after passing 10,000 ft
- remains on until a/c is parked at gate
Location of Sterile Flight Deck Light
B737, B757, B767-400, B777-200 (77E), B777-300
- blue light adjacent to FD door
B777-200 - WHITE light adjacent to FD door
B787 - WHITE light installed on all Master Call Panels
Control Panels
- location: various cabin jumpseat stations
- purpose: controlling of cabin lighting, door entry lights, emergency lighting system, evac alarms, and jumpseat work lights
Door Safety Strap Operation
- if equipped, place strap across door whenever cabin door is open and jetbridge or airstairs are not in place
- after use, release door safety strap and stow properly
- Type 1 - secure loose end of strap to a/c mounted assist handle
- Type 2 - allow strap to completely retract into a/c door frame. Report any discrepancy to pilots
- Before closing a/c door, verify door safety strap is properly stowed
- Close and arm door
- if strap is caught in door, notify pilots immediately
- under direction of Captain, ensure door is disarmed and open door
- Type 1 - open door far enough to bring door safety strap inside
- Type 2 - open door and ensure strap completely retracts into a/c door frame
- Close and arm door
- Notify pilots when complete
Emergency Lighting System
- auto activation by loss of normal a/c power
- manual activation by Emergency Light Switch ELS located in flight deck or cabin
- lasts minimum of 10 min.
- EEPL Emergency Escape Path Lighting on aisles and aisle bulkheads
Emergency Exits
- Cabin exits
- Flight deck exits (window or escape hatch w/ escape rope or intertia reels)
