What is a somatic symptom disorder?
Someone who is preoccupied with particular physical complaints and they always want to talk about them
What is preoccupation?
The patient isn’t actually sick
What is a hypochondriac?
Someone who obsesses over diseases and illnesses and researches them and then is positive they have the disease. And they constantly have something wrong with them
What is conversion disorder?
When a person cannot explain what is happening so it comes out in a physical form
Focuses on neurological symptoms
What is facto tikis disorder?
The patient does something they know will cause illness to get attention or they know nothing is wrong with them
What treatments help people with a factitious disorder?
Work on self-esteem and how they value themselves, change understanding and how they receive attention
