The following safety equipment shall be used by the Ground Guide:

- Eye and ear protection
- Helmet with chin strap in place
- Reflective vest
- Orange buttons or flash lights
- Turn out coat and pants

With ATU on the ground stay clear, following these safety roles:
A
- Keep emergency personnel a minimum of 100ft from the touchdown area.
- Keep bystanders a minimum of 200ft from the touchdown area.
- Do not approach ATU until signaled by the flight crew
- Never approach the ATU from the rear
- Secure all loose items
- Transfer of patient to ATU stretcher should occur away from the helicopter
- Use the fewest personnel practical to move the patient to the ATU.
